Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I choose Salt Piercing Studio?

At Salt, we believe every piercing should be a positive, memorable experience. Our studio is designed with calming colours and relaxing vibes to make you feel comfortable the moment you walk in. Our team is friendly, supportive, and professional. We’re here to answer every question and guide you gently through the process. Whether it’s your little’s first ear piercing or an addition to your piercing stack, we promise a safe, calming environment with extra time dedicated to personalized care.

What ages do you pierce?

We pierce littles (ages 2–12), teens, and adults! Littles and clients under 16 need a legal guardian present and photo ID. Nose and cartilage piercings are for ages 13+ and navel for 14+ and require a legal guardian present and photo ID if you’re under the age of 18.

For more information about littles piercings, visit here. If your child is younger than 2 years old, please email us or contact us on Instagram.

Is there anyone Salt Piercing Studio won’t pierce?

Yes, for your safety and the well-being of our team, we reserve the right to refuse service in the following situations:

  • If you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant

  • If you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol

  • If you have not eaten a substantial meal within two hours of your appointment

  • If you do not have proper government-issued photo ID, or minors are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with the required documentation

  • If anyone is disrespectful or rude to our staff

  • For littles: If the little becomes upset, anxious, or expresses that they do not wish to continue, our piercers will stop the procedure immediately and ask that legal guardians support our judgment and policy.

If any of these apply at your appointment, we will be unable to proceed and our cancellation and no-show policy may apply. Thank you for understanding and helping us maintain a supportive, respectful environment for everyone.

Where are you located? How do I enter the studio?

We’re tucked inside Agora Beauty Studios at 103-590 St. Anne’s Rd, in studio number 11. When you enter the building you will see an intercom in the lobby. Press the “contacts” button, select Salt Piercing Studio, and we’ll buzz you in to unlock the door to unit 103. Please have a seat in the waiting area. Victoria or Amie will come greet you.

If you need help on the day, just give us a call or send a message and we’ll make sure you find your way in.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?

We’re exclusively by appointment so we can give you our full attention.

How do I book?

Right here on our website! You can also call, text, email, or send us a DM on Instagram (@saltpiercingstudio) if you have any questions before booking or can’t find a date that works for you. We’re always happy to help!

Booking the correct option ensures the correct intake form is sent to you before your appointment. Please review the photo below to help you determine which piercing placement you’d like.

Why do you require a credit card on file?

We ask for a credit card when booking to hold your appointment time, just like many salons, studios, and healthcare providers. This helps reduce last-minute cancellations and no-shows so we can keep the schedule running smoothly and make room for clients on our waitlist. Your card is only charged if our cancellation and no show policy isn’t followed.

What is your cancellation and no-show policy?

To secure your appointment at Salt Piercing Studio, we require a credit card at the time of booking.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a no-show fee. Otherwise, the full cost of your appointment will be charged to your card.

Arriving 10 minutes late or more is considered a no-show, and the same fee applies.

Please arrive with government-issued photo ID and make sure to eat within 2 hours before your appointment. Missing either may cause delays or cancellation.

Thank you for understanding and helping us keep our schedule running smoothly!

What happens after I book my appointment?

After booking, you’ll get an intake form sent to your email, which we ask you to fill out before you arrive. It helps us get everything ready for your visit and makes the whole process smooth and seamless. If you haven’t received your form or need help, just let us know ahead of time. We’re here to help every step of the way!

What kind of ID do I need to bring to my appointment?

If you’re a minor, you must have a legal guardian present. Your legal guardian should bring a government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license or passport), and you’ll need an ID as proof of guardianship (birth certificate or health card). There will be no exceptions made.

Minors are considered:
Lobe Piercings - under 16 years old
Cartilage, Nose, & Navel Piercings - under 18 years old

If you’re a non-minor, all you need to bring is your own government-issued photo ID (passport, driver’s license, etc.).

How do I prepare for my appointment?

Make sure you’re well-rested, hydrated, have had a substantial meal, and completed your intake form before coming in.

Can I bring a friend or parent with me?

Absolutely! We welcome the moral support of friends and family members. If you’re a minor, your legal guardian must be with you, with proper ID. Keep in mind that our piercing room is cozy and space is limited, so please keep groups small for everyone’s comfort.

Will it hurt? What if I’m nervous?

We get asked this all the time by clients of every age. A piercing feels like a quick pinch, but our team makes sure you feel comfortable every step of the way. We walk you through the process, take extra care, and are happy to pause or answer questions whenever needed.

What piercing method do you use?

We pierce exclusively with single-use, sterile needles, never with piercing guns. Why? Needles are much safer and far gentler on your tissue, allowing for a more precise piercing, better healing, and way less discomfort. Piercing guns can cause unnecessary trauma to the skin and aren’t as hygienic, so we keep things safe, calm, and professional for everyone!

What jewellery do you use? Can I upgrade?

We only use high-quality implant-grade titanium for every fresh piercing, therefore we cannot pierce with any outside jewellery.

We also have a selection of 14k gold plated jewellery available. Let your piercer know if you want to upgrade!

How long will my new piercing take to heal?

Healing times depend on many factors such as aftercare, your body, and piercing placement. Here is a guideline to manage your expectations:

Lobes: 4-6 months
Helix, Midi, Conch, Flat, & Nose: 6-8 months
Tragus, Daith, Rook, & Navel: 9-12 months

How do I look after my new piercing?

Please review our aftercare instructions, which our piercers will go over and send you home with at the end of your appointment. Have a question? Just ask!

What if I have more questions or concerns after my appointment?

Reach out anytime! Email, call, text, or book a Wellness Check for peace of mind. We’re always happy to connect with you!
